The frothing unit’s location and its height makes it slightly inconvenient to be used. Invest in a metal tamp, and use it instead of the one that comes with this unit. If the cup warmer does not warm the cup on time, pour hot water into the cups.
This machine has easy to use controls and is quite simple to assemble and start using. The first coffee may not taste that good as the crema needs to settle down. The included instruction manual and CD ROM provides very good information about using and maintaining this machine.
If you want to use ground coffee, try to buy a burr type coffee grinder to grind your coffee freshly every time. This gives a consistent taste. The Gaggia 16100 unit has a much quieter operation than other models in this range.
